A great achievement in such a short period of time. When I joined the UK solar sector in 2007 there was next to nothing installed.  The most impressive thing was that this was achieved against run of play. Yes, we had FIT and ROC incentives, and they without doubt helped to kickstart the sector, but we also had very high prices, very unstable and volatile policy support. We also had (have) a poor electricity network infrastructure in many places, and a government fixated on centralised energy, Nuclear and baseload. Without the need of financial incentive, if we can have fixed and positive policy support, and a modern mindset (if you were starting from scratch you wouldn't build a centralised system today), just think what can be achieved in the next 9 years!
