Though the actual support for renewable energy technologies hasn't changed over the past few years (80% support in 2014 vs 79% support in 2012) it would appear that Energy Security and Climate Change are becoming increasingly important to the UK population.
The question is when will this apparent high level of support be translated into actual policy and implementation changes? As the UK at present is sitting rather pathetically low in the EU rankings in terms of renewable and carbon reduction obligations (about 25th out of 27 states last time I checked!).
According to the DECC survey, “energy security and climate change are now ranked joint fourth in a list of the biggest challenges facing the UK today, up from eighth and ninth places respectively in March 2012.
